I can't believe how disappointed I am with myself. I've basically have worked for nothing this whole year!! Actually if I'm really honest with myself it's been 10 years. This evil addiction always talks me into it, if my partner finds out this time definitely over. His had enough so have I but yet it still drags me in. Wages gone again loan sharks having a field day with me AGAIN. My god I've barred myself & yet I always find a place I can just have 'a little go' no such thing & I know this too well & I keep lying to myself. Anyway good to vent thankyou.

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for your post, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time at the moment. It sounds like you've been fighting this addiction for a long time and feeling really motivated to make some changes - hence why you've come to this site!
I am wondering if you have ever tried speaking to a counsellor about your struggles with gambling? It could even be helpful for you to bring your partner to a session so that they can learn a bit more about this problem you are having.
Whatever you feel would be helpful, it is good that you've had a chance to vent and take the first step to making changes! We would love to hear how you are going further on down the track, and as always if you would like some more support you can arrange an appointment with a specialist gambling counsellor - you can call the Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858.
all the best,
Counsellor Sam
